The Best Betta
To become addicted to betta fish, you should have a good experience with them. Usually to have a good experience with them, you need a healthy fish. There are a lot of factors contributing to a healthy betta. Tank/aquarium size and what food it eats is part of it. But that's for later. Right now I will teach you how to choose a healthy betta. You can get your betta fish in:
- Petsmart
- Petco
- Walmart
- Bay Aquarium
- King Aquarium
- Your LFS (Local Fish Shop)
- Your LPS (Local Pet Shop)
I usually get mine from my LFS, but you can always get it somewhere else.
Signs of a healthy Betta
- Swimming around the cup/bag/tank.
- Flaring at other bettas or pictures of betta
- Fins don't appear to be ripped or rotting.
- Has both of it's eyes
- Doesn't have any mold or fuzzy stuff growing on it.
- No growths on on it's body.
Numbers 1-3 and maybe 5, you can fix. 4 and 6 are very hard problems to fix, and 4 is impossible. Unless you have a betta fish with superpowers. That would be awesome.
To sum it up, choose a betta fish that is active, flaring, and fins are mostly intact.
Thanks for checking out my blog! I didn't know you had one as well! It's really good by the way!!!
