I rewrote Meghan Trainor's song "Dear Future Husband" and turned it into "Dear Future Owner" Here it is.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear future owner,
Here's a few things
You'll need to know if you wanna be
My one and only all my life
Feed me everyday
I deserve a break
And don't forget the bloodworm every anniversary
'Cause if you'll treat me right
I'll be the perfect fish
Eating groceries
Ea-eating what you need
You got that 9 to 5
But, owner, so do I
So don't be thinking I'll be fine just eating flakes and flies
I never learned to fly
But I can really try
Swim along with me
Swim-swim along with me (hey)
You gotta know how to treat me really ri-ight
Even when I'm tryna fight
Show me everything's alright
Dear future owner,
Here's a few things you'll need to know if you wanna be
My one and only all my life
Dear future owner,
If you wanna get that special lovin'
Tell me I'm beautiful each and every night
After every fight
Just treat me right
And maybe then I'll let you try and teach me right
Even if I was pretty
You know I'm always pretty
Why disagree?
Why, why disagree?
You gotta know how to treat me ri-ight
Even when I'm tryna fight
Show me everything's alright
Dear future owner,
Here's a few things
You'll need to know if you wanna be
My one and only all my life (hey, fishy)
Dear future owner,
Make time for me
Don't leave me lonely
And know I'll never see your family more than you-oo
I'll be swimming on the left side of the tank (hey)
Gimme food and you might see some flaring
Don't have a dirty tank
Just have a good filter
Buy me a plant
Buy-buy me a plant, please
You gotta know how to treat me ri-ight
Even when I'm tryna fight
Show me everything's alright
Dear future owner,
Here's a few things
You'll need to know if you wanna be
My one and only all my life
Dear future owner,
If you wanna get that special loving
Tell me I'm beautiful each and every night
Future owner, better love me right
Feast for the betta
Food is one of the best things ever. No argument there. Practically everything needs food, and food tends to be more enjoyable if it tastes good. So, you would want your betta fish to have good food. Right? If not, try eating bad food for the rest of your life, along with the betta. Meat should be a main ingredient, as betta fish are carnivores. The ingredients are usually listed from weight. So a food with more meat would be listed like; Ingredients: Whole Salmon, tuna, corn, etc, etc.
That mean the main ingredient is Whole Salmon. The first two ingredients should be meat, but if the first three ingredients listed are meat, good for you!
I'm gonna let you decide which foods are best, and which foods aren't. Just because it's a personal preference. However, if you would like me to suggest some, comment and my next post will be about recommended foods and such.
Choosing a tank
Tanks are very important. The tank is your bettas whole world. Some factors of a good betta tank are:
YOU CAN USE PLASTIC PLANTS BUT BE AWARE THAT THEY MIGHT TEAR YOUR BETTA'S FINS!
Filters, heaters, and thermometers are NOT optional. Betta fish are tropical fish and therefore need a heater to maintain the correct temperature. Thermometers are highly recommended so that your betta doesn't get boiled or hypothermia. Filters are needed unless you want to clean your tank every day.
Despite what petstore employees say, bettas can only thrive in a 2.5 gallon tank or more. They can survive in smaller, but they will not thrive.
Plants are optional but recommended so that it is appealing to the eye and your betta fish has more places to hide.
Some good tanks are: Minibow, Tetra 2909, Aquarium Garden, Contour Glass Aquarium.
Some bad tanks are: Bad, Badder, Animal Abuse.
SORRY IF I OFFENED YOU OR YOUR FISH TANK. JUST PLEASE DON'T SUE ME. IF YOU DON'T LIKE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS POST I WILL HAPPILY CHANGE IT!
PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES IF YOU WOULD LIKE A HAPPY, HEALTHY BETTA!
An example of a healthy betta.
I have an example of a healthy betta fish.
I got the image with permission from DeviantArt. The user is named bloody-phoenix-tears.
As you can see the colors are vibrant. The tail isn't torn or ripped. No lumps or growths are on the body.
